Bedroom Make Over | Part 2

I’m sat here on a Friday night and I’ve just completed the painting of my room. I’m absolutely exhausted, and I still need to put my room back together before I go on holiday tomorrow. But really all I can think about it is whether I spelt ‘Make Over’ wrong in my last Blog title….is it ‘Makeover’?? Oh dear, comments below please. I obviously need help.

So I mentioned I have been painting like a crazy person since last Saturday. Yes, it really has taken me that long and it’s been hard. The main reason it has taken just under a week is because I’ve been working as well and my original colour was very strong. This meant I had to do four…yes four layers of white paint! It was crazy, though I do think I may have been a little stingy on how much paint I put on my roller.

In my defence, it was all new to me. The other main issue was the fact my old wall colour featured a yellow band around the centre and this has been almost impossible to get rid of completely. After many coats of paint and touch ups, I’ve got it to a point where it isn’t too noticeable! But alas, I can do no more, as I desperately need my room back. Even if it’s just to sleep in a proper bed!

So what better way to show you the journey of painting my room, than to do it in pictures…..from a room full of teenage angst to a room for a young professional (yes I’m going to call myself young, got to try whilst I still can ehh!).

Here goes nothing…….

The first coat goes up - those pesky undercoats!

Another layer – the paint underneath starts to disappear!

Paint seems to get everywhere...

Looking whiter but that pesky border is still showing through.
